Granted I'm a decade older than you but I ran away from home to go to the Toy Box in Calgary - there were no discos in the Skatch when I was 13/14/15. I saw Alice Cooper one of those summers - in Calgary too - 12 - 16 is pretty hazy.

This made me horribly nostalgic for getting wasted repeatedly (which requires THC and alcohol at the very least, not just alcohol) and talking things that seem brilliantly funny but are entirely about nothing. Goddamn, is it the world or is it me? Why does no one ever do that anymore? That I know, at least.

So you never went in for the fun punk? Like The Cramps or The Ramones or what have you?

There were other fun ones but my brain has rotted from that time. There was a lot of funny lighthearted punk music. But there were also Joy Division or Bad Seeds or whathaveyou purists.

The funny thing about "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing"? My 2 year-old knows that song, thanks to the Wiggles. I hate that damn song. Also? Leo Sayer looks pretty much the same, 30 years later.
