Poems for Monsters #4: The Mummy
» Thursday, July 09, 2009

The Mummy
just downloaded Anchorman
Now he’s all “I’m kind of
a big deal” this and “rich mahogany” that

And we all have to laugh along
cause dude
he’s a mummy
he’ll rip your freaking head off

So let’s not let him watch
Knocked Up

or Blade 3

Especially Blade 3. I'm finding these very strangely inspirational. thanks for that.

Jessi - I would never have thought of these as inspirational works, but thank you very much. I've been coming to terms with the fact that my imagination always turns in certain directions, so I've decided to just go with it and write about monsters.

Love it, aside from my resenting the implication that Anchorman and Knocked Up are not good movies.

Blogger palinode

Ozma - I contend that no such implication exists. Anchorman was hilarious and Knocked Up had plenty of moments. Blade 3 sucked.

Blade 3 made Blade 2 look like Gone with the Wind. And acknowledging that Blade 2 was written and produced by members of the human race is disappointing. So, y'know. It's all very complicated.

i like the monster series. the lines between fantasy and reality are so hard to define anyway, we might as well embrace the blurriness and have a little fun with it.
